GIA Motorcycle Frame kits and Swinging Arms
We design the chassis, swing arm and petrol tank around your motor and motorcycle donor parts. A 'Special Build' is the 'creme de la creme' of the Fighter world, more or less guarenteeing a Magazine feature and lot's of jealous mates! If your thinking of building your own Custom Motorbike then we reckon your a bit of a perfectionist.......Well your in the right place! GIA offer's a top quality service using 7020 T6 Aluminium - bent and TIG welded to perfection!
Streetfighter History:
Gav reckons "Steve Burns pioneered them in the 80’s when he started modifying his road motorbike.” ...... And he thinks Spondon Engineering developed and manufactured the highly publicised ‘Monster’ sometime around 1991. At the time it was heavily featured in Performance Bike Magazine and information about it is still all over the web! Apparently, Spondon built the frame from Aluminium Tube, around a GSX Engine......
The type of Trick Frame you choose is a matter of personal taste.
Trellis Frames - Made from big tube aluminium are light and rigid. The design can be adjusted to suit many different engine mounting points.
Beam Frames - Most sportbikes use a beam frame made from cast aluminium. It gives strength and rigidity. A custom built chassis is made from Extruded Aluminium Box Section. The design is limited compared to big tube frames but can look special if done well.
Cradle Frames - popular for 'old skool' motorbikes. Made from big tube aluminium, very rigid and showcases the engine.
Swinging arm styles vary. - The single sided swing arm uses one mounting point and creates a clean look. Fabricated from big tube aluminium - 7020 Aircraft grade material. Under braced, over braced and double braced swingarms. All manufactured from 7020 big tube aluminium - The limits are endless! 'Factory style' sheet fabricated swing arms are another option.....and all styles are made bespoke to your requirements
The British gave birth to the fighter, but many countries have adopted them. Look no further than Germany and the Netherlands for aggressive, 'beefed up' Streetfighters with high, short tails. Their Streetfighters have plenty of customisation and fat tyres. Martek Frames are popular. They love big tube aluminium - polished to a mirror finish......And so do we

Years ago I made a 400-4 cafe racer and it was badged wotan honda............ after 28 years i have now secured a doner 400-4 for wotan 2 and am thinking of a box section swingarm 550mm as compared to standard with the gusseting further back and a hoop bridge gusseted on to convert to single central shock.. the original wheelbase is 1402.66 with front rake 26.40 and a trail of 84.32 with the extended swing arm the wb goes to 1492.79 front rake is 25.9 and trail is 81.5 this is no problem as i junk the standard forks -wheels brakes etc and use an adjustable front end set up....would you need the frame or just the junked old swing arm with a rough scetch and mesurments to be able to fabricate if at all possible thanking you in advance scott

Hi,
Can you make one of your banana swing arms to adapt the Bandit to take a GSXR 1000 K4 wheel, the bandit wheel is a 180 and the GSXR is 190. What would be the cost and how long would it take.
Regards,
Shuggie.
